A portion of the proceeds is donated to families in Nepal where the recipe originated. In addition, real yak milk is only available in limited quantities, which we do not want to take away from the people in Nepal who desperately need it.

Each Golddust Chhurpi is made from 99.9% cow's milk (0.01% is salt). As in cheese production, rennet is added to the milk. The milk curdles, and this mass is placed in moisture-permeable cloths in a mold, then pressed and dried for more than 3 months.
