Safe and sustainable production
Quality, safety, and sustainability are important to Renske. That is why we choose to produce Chhurpi in Belgium (IFS certified). A portion of the proceeds is donated to families in Nepal where the recipe originated. Additionally, real yak milk is only available in limited quantities, and we don't want to deprive the people of Nepal who desperately need it.
Each Chhurpi is made from 99.9% cow's milk (0.01% is salt). As in cheese production, rennet is added to the milk. The milk curdles, and this mass is placed in permeable cloths in a mold, then pressed and dried for more than 3 months.
The Chhurpi is available in different sizes:
- Extra Small ± 30 grams
- Small ± 40 grams
- Medium ± 60 grams
- Large ± 86 grams
- Extra Large ± 116 grams
- Giant ± 180 grams
